Custom Quilt in Earth Tones

We recently completed a twin-sized custom quilt for a child's room. The client chose fabrics that were gender-neutral as she foresaw both her boy and girl getting use out of it at some point.

The quilt top is a taupe linen/cotton blend by Robert Kaufman with a band of strips on the bottom third of the quilt in various hues of green, taupe, aqua, and cream. These fabrics are by Joel Dewberry, Kathy Davis, and Valori Wells.

The quilting runs in straight lines from top to bottom extending the seam lines of the fabric strips. The batting is organic cotton, and the back is our favourite, cushy, 8 oz. organic flannel.

As with all of our custom quilts, the binding has been lovingly hand stitched. The funky aqua and green swirl binding adds just the right amount of punch to this otherwise very serene (and lovely) quilt!

Really Big Flannel Shipment

Were we ever pretty surprised when our latest shipment of organic flannel arrived in this! We've never seen a big rig on this quiet residential street before, and certainly never expected to have one parked in front of the house.

Our shipment wasn't the only one on this huge truck, of course.
But our business is growing and organic cotton prices are rising, so we stocked up and now we have a whole lot of flannel to play with. Woohoo!
